This is my current skin care routine, that I have been practicing since about the 2nd week of April. My skin really needed a change, and to be prepped for the upcoming hot Summer months ahead.

What I use:

So, you are curious as to what the difference between the Clarisonic Pro and the Clarisonic Plus is? To be honest, there isn’t really all that much of one, but the Pro does have the additional 4th “Pro speed” speed setting, and a 3 year warranty rather than the 2 year warranty with the Plus.

For the extra speed and additional warranty year, to me it was more than worth the additional cost.

My skin care routine is terribly, terribly simple; I have very sensitive, dry, hormonal skin. For this reason (and the obvious others), I try to only use natural products on my skin, if at all possible.

I have absolutely fallen in love with Jurlique’s line of products, and I have been using Jurlique since the end of 2010.

These are my go-to skin care products. I could live without everything else, but not these babies!

A.M.

I gently rinse off my skin with warm water to open my pores, and then I massage in one pump of my Jurlique Soothing Foaming Cleanser.

I rinse off the remaining traces of soap with warm water, and then immediately with cold water, to close my pores.

Pat dry with a paper towel (I find this to be far more sanitary than using a hand-towel), and then immediately I spritz on my Rosewater Balancing Mist.

While my face is still damp from the Rosewater Balancing Mist, I quickly apply a generous amount of Lancôme Bienfait UV SPF 50+ Super Fluid Facial Sunscreen, and massage in thoroughly.

Perhaps it seems odd that I refrain from using a moisturizer in the morning on a daily basis, but  I find that the Rosewater Balancing Mist is enough to keep my face hydrated and supple, as long as I am not wearing makeup (which tends to suck the moisture out of my skin).

I also have gotten into the habit of using sunscreen daily now, with this new routine implemented (SPF 50+!!! I can not even begin to say how amazing this is, for someone as pale as myself), but! More about that below.

P.M.

I start out by first removing all of my makeup by hand, with 1-2 pumps of the Soothing Foaming Cleanser.

I apply a generous pump of the Soothing Foaming Cleanser directly on to my Clarisonic brush head, and on the first setting, I move it in small circular motions across my face.

I rinse off the remaining traces of soap with warm water, and then immediately with cold water, to close my pores.

Pat dry with a paper towel (I find this to be far more sanitary than using a hand-towel), and then immediately I spritz on my Rosewater Balancing Mist.

I take one pump of Lancôme Génefique Youth Activating Concentrate and massage between my fingers to evenly disperse.

While my face is still damp from the Rosewater Balancing Mist, I quickly, and thoroughly massage in the Génefique serum.

After the Génefique has completely soaked in, I apply a generous amount of Lancôme Bienfait UV SPF 50+ Super Fluid Facial Sunscreen, and massage in thoroughly.

Some people like to use their Clarisonic to do the whole job of makeup removal, but I tend to think it makes more sense to remove the makeup first, rather than oscillating the residue all over your face.

I also really try to not exceed the one minute tea-timer on my Clarisonic, as my skin type can be easily over-stripped of moisture. Also, as I’m sure you have noticed – I only use my Clarisonic at night, after I have been wearing makeup. On that note, if I have not worn makeup during the day, I will generally not use my Clarisonic that night.

Last, but not least – I’m sure some of you may find it odd as to why I apply sunscreen before bed and sleep… but this is no ordinary sunscreen!

I am not quite sure what sorcery and magic was involved in the making of Bienfait, but what I do know, is that I refuse to ever, ever be without it!

It keeps my skin matte, clear, and breakouts somehow magically vanish by morning when I wear it. And best of all, it doesn’t parch my skin (and it’s all the better—if even possible—when used in conjunction with Génefique).

Also, I know I said I prefer natural skin care, and Lancôme obviously does not exactly qualify, but those have been the two exceptions I have allowed in the past several years.

As it gets into mid-June, I will probably start using Guerlain Abeille Royale Youth Serum and the First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream again, because I am not going to even joke about it – that stuff is amazing.

And that concludes it! My very simple (and perhaps a bit odd) Spring/early Summer-prep routine for my dry, sensitive skin.
