As some of you might be aware, I just recently celebrated my 22nd Birthday this past Saturday (09/08). I had a few requests for pictures, so I decided to do a quick little post for you!
My makeup was simple, per usual. I tend to stick to fresh skin, groomed brows, dark lashes, and moisturized lips (à la Smith’s Rose Salve).
I have been completely in love with Aigle Noir, one of NARS’ Soft Touch Shadow Pencils, which is a beautiful bronze shimmering black.
I use Aigle Noir all over my lid (from lashline to crease), and blend just slightly above. Then from the middle of my lid, and slightly past my crease, I like to pack on a shimmering champagne or gold eyeshadow.
I just used a Sephora shader brush that I had right on hand, and my Anastasia Highlighting Brow Kit (the highlighting trio portion of this kit makes an excellent eyeshadow, especially if like me, you don’t have an abundance über sparkly gold shadows & pigments in your collection).
And now for the real highlights of my day…
My parents spoiled me by ordering Adobe CS6! I am thrilled to own CS6 – and even more thrilled that I received it as a gift! If this seems frivolous, fear not – I recently upgraded my computer, and switched from a Windows PC to an Apple iMac. So therefore – my Adobe CS5 Extended (Windows uses .exe files, and Mac uses .dmg) was rendered useless.
CS6 works like a dream. To the point that it even inspired me to work on my digital art again, after over a 2 year hiatus.
The most unexpected gift I received was from a family friend, Tina. When she was made aware of it being my birthday, she disappeared briefly, only to return with a dress she said she had received only a few hours previously in the mail…
Behold, the GUESS Noelle Sleeveless Dress! Funny thing is, I had contemplated ordering this dress only a few weeks previous. Fate!
And since I am
obsessed a bit of a GUESS fan, it was less of a coincidence than it appeared, that I was already wearing a pair of GUESS lace pumps… ones that paired with the dress rather fabulously, if I do say so myself!
Last, but certainly not least (always save the best for last, they say!) – my favorite!
My boyfriend surprised me with the Mimi Holliday set I had been lusting after – and no less, somehow managed to snag the last of my size (which I know because only a day after he asked me to confirm my size(s), I attempted to order them myself). Bravo, I say! Comfiest Mimi bra I own by far. I can admit to falling asleep in it, several times… I simply forget I’m even wearing it!
So a big thank-you, and kisses to everyone that made the start of my new year a lovely one!
Until next time, beauties! XOXO
