Dress The Population: Ava
I am the type that will spend months contemplating on wether or not I need another dress in my wardrobe. Of course, the answer is almost always ‘yes’, much to my chagrin.
Oh, but the joy that comes with trying it on, and falling completely in love; behold, my Cyber Monday purchase – Dress The Population’s Ava Dress in Copper, which is exclusive to Planet Blue.
An array of photos, courtesy of my Instagram feed.
Yes, if you clicked the link to view the dress on Planet Blue, the dress undoubtedly looks different on a person 8 inches taller than myself; I mention this little fact for any other petite girls such as myself who might be considering purchasing this dress. I think it looks gorgeous on every height and build, so don’t be scared away from it, by any means.
For reference, I am in the neighborhood of 5’1″ – 5’2″/156 – 157cm (at best). My measurements are 34-23-36, and I weigh 100lbs/45kg. I generally wear a size 00/0 and XXS/XS.
My favorite part about this dress (beside the gorgeous sequins, of course) is the very sultry zipper, which of course is the pièce de résistance.
The top of this dress was just barely snug enough (in an XS) to provide about the bare minimum amount of support required for me to get away with wearing it minus a brassière.
I like it paired best with this particular pair of Bow & Pear Drop Earrings by Jardin.
And also this pair of Yamini heels in Natural Multi by GUESS.
I think with such a bold statement a dress like this makes, the simpler you keep the accessories, the better. I would probably stay away from wearing any bold jewelry, bright shoes, or crazy makeup.
So, do any of you lovely ladies have a dress that you’ve been lusting for? Tell me about it in the comments below!
I hope you all are enjoying the last few days of December!
Until next time beauties,
