FOTD: Wedding Makeup Trial
While I was in California this last time, my fiancé Robert and I made a stop in Pasadena. While in old town Pasadena, I spotted a very large Sephora, and Robert graciously agreed to let me go inside and ooh and ahh to my heart’s content.
At the time, Sephora’s Spring Sale was on, so I decided to make some use of my 15% discount.
I’m on a continual pursuit of picking up a few pieces of makeup here and there in time for my upcoming wedding (still trying to find that winning combination!), so I was happy to find a few things I think I can definitely use in the mix.
Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz in Dark Brown | YSL MASCARA VOLUME EFFET FAUX CILS – Luxurious Mascara in 9 Noir Radical | YSL Gloss Volupté in 19 Rose Orfèvre | SEPHORA COLLECTION False Eye Lashes in Mainstay
I have to emphasize what a good sport Robert is, because from my experience, all men loathe going in to makeup stores with their women…
This look is mainly comprised of the above purchases, sans the falsies – I have yet to successfully learn how to apply false lashes. A fault which I blame on my inconvenient eye shape – and the addition of a new mainstay in my makeup arsenal… M.A.C. Face and Body foundation in C1! Mixed with my everyday foundation, Dior Diorskin Nude in 011 Creme, of course. This combination makes my skin luminous and dewy all day, without looking oily, and best of all, M.A.C Face and Body is waterproof, so my foundation stays in place through sweat and tears, swimming, and whatever else the day (or night) has in store.
I find myself always going back to my NARS Miss Liberty Highlighting Blush for my complexion, and the gorgeous Lancôme Color Design Eyeshadow and Liner Palette in Taupe Craze on my eyes!
It’s a relatively simple look, but it is luminous, feminine, and has enough impact that I am comfortable with the idea of wearing this as my wedding look.
