I was in Sephora to look at the NARS x Andy Warhol collection, but was completely sidetracked when I saw this gorgeous highlighting blush in Miss Liberty!
I have had this particular color on my Sephora shopping list for ages, but had never seen it in person, but once I did – I knew it had to be mine!
I adore the gorgeous subtle glow that this gives me in combination with my NARS Sheer Glow Foundation in 01 Siberia – it’s not overly glittery, which I can appreciate, since my skin is very dry and prone to looking a bit flaky when wearing any sort of facial powder. NARS blushes and bronzers however, have such a lovely texture that they seem to actually leave me looking otherwise, as though I’ve been airbrushed. Oh là là!
To be honest, I was initially a bit skeptical as to whether I would like this blush or not… in all honesty, I am not a huge fan of NARS Orgasm; I usually forego blush entirely, and just go straight to my NARS Laguna (bronzer).
The first time I used this, I wasn’t really quite sure if I appreciated how slight of a difference there was in contrast to my skin/foundation, but it really has a lot to do with what you are expecting from the product. Miss Liberty is a relatively pale shade (granted, not nearly as pale as Albatross), so it is not going to suit your fancy much if you have big dreams of using it as a contour. Besides, matte colors are best for contour, and Miss Liberty (as previously mentioned) is shimmery, and a bit glittery.
As you can see in these last two photos, I have been using Miss Liberty quite frequently; it is my favorite shimmer/highlighter at the moment, and looks absolutely gorgeous when layered over the NARS Multiple in Riviera!
My skin tone is quite a bit lighter than it picks up in photos, but as you can see – there isn’t too much variation going on. Just a nice subtle shimmer and glow!
In short: I am so smitten with this particular blush that I am considering picking up several backups. While I like it on my very pale skin, I think this color would look absolutely stunning on those with deeper coloration.
