Recently I had the pleasure of reconnecting with a friend of mine I hadn’t seen in a few years, to do her makeup for a family photo session.
Meet Brittney! She has big eyes and a bright smile, which makes for a fantastic canvas. I really enjoyed creating this look on her, and it was relatively simple!

I took this quick photo of Brittney and her makeup in natural lighting.
Her complexion is quite lovely, so I kept things simple, using just a bit of M•A•C Face And Body Foundation in C1, my Anastasia Beverly Hills Contour Kit to do a little minor sculpting, the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette to set things in place and add luminosity, with a pop of Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Blush in Tipsy on the apples of her cheeks.
Brittney had never worn lipstick in her life before, but she wanted to try the look of cat eyeliner with a red lip. We ultimately went with Marc Jacobs Beauty Lip Gel in 128 Seduce Me.
For her eyes, I used the Anastasia Beverly Hills Amrezy palette (unfortunately sold out – this palette is GOLDEN!) and Benefit Cosmetics They’re Real! Mascara.
Brows, as always, were filled in with Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow Pomade — I used it in Chocolate.
This look photographs beautifully, and really stands out!
