This & That: I Am Always Cold, And Here Is The Reason Why

I’m always cold.

Hello, dear beautiful people!

I decided to begin a weekly post format that’s a bit of a departure from the normal, where I will share various little pieces that don’t fit into any one particular category, and is just a bit too short for anything else.

So without further ado…

THIS

For having spent the majority of my life being told by my mother that I have ‘poor circulation, just like your grandmother’, this seemed equally innocuous as it did irritating.

To emphasize the situation, I’d really like to drive this home: I’m literally always cold.

So when I finally began talking to my naturopathic doctor about this (she actually bothered to examine my hands and feet), I discovered there is actually a name to label it with, making it so much easier to convince friends and family to turn up the thermostat for me!

Hi, my name is Ashley, and I have Reynaud syndrome.

Reynaud’s isn’t particularly fun to have, but it sounds much scarier than it actually is. And should you be unfamiliar like I was, I recommend clicking the above Wikipedia link.

THAT

Probably the best investment I’ve ever made was this space heater I purchased from Amazon, which kept me toasty warm all winter long, no matter what the cold-lovers in my life had the thermostat temperature set to. It’s a relatively inexpensive move, that has drastically improved my comfort situation.

Basically, if you’re always cold like I am, you probably need a fuzzy blanket and a space heater.

I recommend that everyone get themselves a space heater. If you find yourself working on a computer, or any seated situation where digits have limited blood flow, it really helps. I promise, your fingers and toes will thank you!
